The detail and accuracy of the map is great, and the laminated format makes it very easy to use. I never get stuck trying to re-fold Streetwise maps, and they're easy to fold down to view just the panel you need, so that you're not so obvious as a tourist walking around with a huge, unwieldy map. Plus, you never have to worry about tearing or spilling on them! User Review:  - i agree, you do better for freefor all of the reasons described above, i too, like the streetwise series, but i didn't end up using this map...i'd say it rates fair/fine/ok. i had done some travel planning but upon arrival in prague found that the local/free/tourist maps showed more of central prague, better. just one specific example: the uzjed/petrin funicular was left off (or covered up by a key). and the flipping back and forth was inconvenient - something i'd expect and accept for central to suburb transition but not central to central locations. User Review:  - Awful Map - No DetailI am in the process of movie to Prague and bought this map as a resource for that move. I can't find any of the streets I am looking for on this map. I picked up a free one at AAA and it has much more detail. I believe that this map may be useful for a tourist just trying to find a few key locations but beyond that, it is a waste of money. It is not worth $8. User Review:  - Great resourceI have to admit, I'm biased towards the "Streetwise" series. Having spent a great deal of time in Europe both on my own and as a tour guide, I learned quickly to appreciate the value of these maps. The Prague version naturally has most of the tourist areas: Mala Strana, Karlovy Most, the Jewish Quarter, Hradacny Castle plus landmarks, points of interest and major hotels/restaurants on one side: great for navigating around the city. Also, it has an overview of the Metro system, and street index on the back. The single-sided plan saves having to switch back and forth while maneuvering around tourists/traffic. But the lamination is the greatest idea: waterproof and easy to write on and erase. I would suggest an alcohol pen to mark routes etc on your copy. All this map needs is a Lat/Long grid to be an ideal tool for visiting Prague. |
