Delorme Earthmate GPS LT-20 with Street Atlas 2007

User Review: 2 out of 5 stars - Delorme Earthmate GPS LT-20
I'm not at all satisfied with this product. I also own Microsofts GPS and I like it very much. I had the Microsoft one first and wanted to try this to see which is better.

User Review: 3 out of 5 stars - not for truckers
If you are a truck diver this is not for you, it help a lillte bit but it gives sometimes routes that are not good for trukers like , thru mountains even trying to choose just interstates.

User Review: 1 out of 5 stars - Hands down the WORST option out there!
I have owned the 2006 version of this program since it came out. I travel for a living and have used it on both coasts and in the midwest EXTENSIVELY. The ONLY thing it is good for is giving you a rough idea of how long your trip will take. THE MAPS ABSOULETLY STINK EVERYWHERE!!!!! There is a MAJOR 4 lane hiway near my home (Hwy 2 from Lincoln NE to Nebraska City, NE) that has been there for 5 to 10 years and it isn't even on the map (It still shows the old 2 lane hwy 2 and tries to redirect you OVER AND OVER AND OVER again). I have found this also in at least 2 other states. It has even directed me to the wrong TOWN!!! (In California when I was going to Stanford University)

SAVE YOURSELF SOME HEADACHE AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!

User Review: 1 out of 5 stars - Save Your Money
Delorme Earthmate LT-20 ... If I could rate this product lower than one star I would! I purchased this program thinking it was as good as it used to be in 2004. NOT! First off I was led to believe it was ther 2007 version...it's not! It's 2006 Street Atlas. And they want $10 more to give you the 2007 SA update. That's not gonna happen! I 've tried everything I know and can't even make it open to MY city. It opens to Washington DC...I live in Southern CA. It lists my home on a street 1/2 a mile away. Personal preferences such as POIs and info for trip planning have to be set each and EVERY time you open the program. There's no such thing as personalizing it and saving your preferences so you can quickly set up a route knowing that all your preferences are in place. It couldn't even find the North Rim of the Grand Canyon until I put the latitude & longitude in for it! What good is that??? When I set up POI to find Campgrounds in a certain area, it cannot find them even when "I" put the names in....much less perform a search on it's own. This program is absolutely beyond useless. Worst money I've ever spent on a map program. I won't be buying this again!

User Review: 2 out of 5 stars - Several problems with GPS LT-20
I recently tried this product and found several problems with the result that I will be returning it under Delorme's 30 day Money Back Guarantee
- It guides you by saying the name of the street or exit to take however it is sometimes difficult to understand what is said
- It does not seem to be as accurate as the navigator which is built into my Toyota. It can be off by 100 feet. By this I mean it thinks the car is located at some location point but in reality that point is 100 feet away.
- It guides you by saying something like "take a left turn at Main street that is 100 feet away" but if you are not good at judging distance and if there's no street sign or it is dark then you may miss the turn. In my Toyota, the nav makes a ping sound about 20 feet prior to the turn and before you get to that point, it will say take a left turn at sound so this makes it very easy to know when to turn
- Putting the lap top on the passenger chair and running the wire from the GPS on the dashboard to the lap top is not ideal
On the positive side, it does an ok job of routing but not as good as the built in unit.
Therefore, too many problems so will be returning it
