Magellan RoadMate 800 Portable GPS NavigatorUser Review: - Poor to very poor mapsThis is an easy to use GPS system and could have been good to excellent except for the fact that the map that comes with it is at least 4 years old. I tried to find out about updates but Magellan does not answer there customer service Email. So I called them and they said they plan to update their units every 18 months. I have had mine longer and it was out dated the moment I used it. In checking out map update availability of several other Magellan units I found that none that I checked had an available update. No wonder they don't answer their customer service Emails. Look into Garmin. They update every unit every month. User Review:  - TOP OF THE LINETHIS IS WHAT YOU WANT,"TOP OF THE LINE" NEVER GET LOST AGAIN NO MORE SPAT WITH YOUR FRIENDS, OR OTHERS. JUST GET THE MAGELLAN AND YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY. EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONE. User Review:  - Magellan 800This unit is very user friendly; quick to set up and use right out of the box. If you factor in the limitations of all gps units this one is more than adequate. Very bright screen and easy to follow prompts. Did not use the included cd rom yet, but it would be helpful to have a more detailed manual rather than a cd. Never the less, you can figure it out rather easily. No problems service wise yet, but I keep hearing bad things about the service. I would recommend this to anyone for an entry level gps. User Review: - Great itemThis item works as advertised. Out of the box charge it and go. Very easy to operate. User Review: - Works like HertzThe unit looks and sounds like the Hertz Never Lost unit. The windshield mount is long, and other mounting options should be explored. The unit is hard to see in the sun glare. It finds directions well. |
