GARMIN 010-00522-00 Streetpilot C550 GPS ReceiverUser Review: - Garmin Streetpilot C550 GPSI liked the Garmin Streetpilot C550 GPS so much I bought another for my wife. User Review: - Great GadgetI bought this for my husband for his birthday and he loved it! The unit is user friendly, yet has tremendous capability. We highly recommend it. User Review: - Garmin streetpilot C550 GPSMy husband is in his 70's and I'm 70yrs of age, and we really like our GPS. We used it for a trip to Detroit Mi on labor day weekend to go to his brothers surprise birthday party and it was perfect. It gave us street by street instructions and where to turn etc, never made a mistake. And if we had to change the street because of detour-it would re-calculate our directions immediately. We hadn't been to Detroit for five or 7 years and you forget where to turn etc, so our Garmin GPS was very helpful to get to the hotel and then to his church where the surprise party took place . My daughter loaned us her GPS--the Garmin c550- and we liked it so much we ordered our own GPS--the same as my daughters and we are very happy using it. So easy just touch and go. User Review: - a Good Deal <--> Not a Good DealGood Deal? I bought it with $160 when it was on sale. But this model is actually outdated. The manual is confusing. I spent some time to figure out how to download the free map 2009 and register the product on line. Not a Good Deal? You can find many other brands with newer model and pay less than $160. I have a TomTom One I have been using for a year and I love all the design. Today you can have it with $100. When I was in Detroit, the Garmin C550 drove me to a deadend road. I tried to find another way, but the Garmin did not help and nonstop reminded me to return back. I did not know how to ask it to shut up. Finally, I turned down the volume and started my TomTom One again. I compared the Garmin and the TomTom on my way home. TomTom always gave me a better way and reminded me one time ahead and second time like--turn right, turn left, stay on the lane, etc. Garmin didn't do like this. With the Garmin, I needed to pay attention on the street signs because Garmin only said one time at which street I needed to turn. User Review: - GARMIN Streetpilot C550 GPS Receiver Good price, works as expected. Has features I've never used nor plan to use! Meets my needs. 2008 map base. No AC charger. Would've rated it at 5 stars with an AC charger. If you want to go from A to B it will get you there. It'll get you home! |
