- Motorcycle RidesI ride a cruiser style motorcycle and I am always looking to travel the back roads while staying off the dirt ones. This map is the best for determining when the asphalt runs out and the gravel/dirt road begins. You would be amazed on how many new paved routes "through the back country" you can find using Benchmark state maps. So far I have four state maps and I'm looking to buy several more User Review: - Useful and Easy to UseHas everything including the 'off-road' trails in the mountains. Did you know there are off-road trails in Orange County? I didn't know until I got this atlas. User Review: - Back roadsThis is an excellent map book that makes the distinction between hard-pack secondary roads and paved secondary roads. I do a lot of California back roads on my motorcycle and found this to be the best of the map books. User Review: - I was a little dissapointedI expected a little more backroad detail, info, & ease of use from (what I thought was) a Topo atlas. Amazon as usual had the best deal. Its a good CA map, but not the detailed topographical map like the ones you get from Ranger stations I had hoped for? I read on other 4x4 websites that this was a topo atlas, not so. User Review: - "Must Have" map for California TravelerI purchased this atlas for motorcycle touring in California, and as a map collector, this is by far the best small-road atlas of California I have ever seen. The relief is excellent, they show a multitude of small roads, and could spend years going through this atlas looking for day trips on the bike. This shows roads much better than a topo map, and relief much better than a road map. It is the best blend of what a traveler needs for unfamiliar roads in California. I have to keep an eye out for updates when this one gets old! Next page of reviews >
