- helpful guidesThese are nice off the beaten path review books. They remind me of Lonely Planet, but thus far I have only seen them for the U.S... They have some expected suggestions as well as a few unique ones. User Review: - Kind of useless (and missing stuff)I just returned to Philly after 7 years away and am living in a new (to me) part of the city. I thought this would be a great book to refresh my city savvy. Nope! I learned more in a few days than this book had to offer. In fact, it was missing some really important info. (for example, a great part was left off the map and not mentioned in the text). I say "waste of money." User Review: - An excellent no frill book guide, What I liked was it is small enough to take with you in a pocket yet it had all you need to get around the city- a great gift for some one new to the city bought it for my niece who will be there for school. User Review: - Concise I have NYC and Philly. The maps are on seperate pages, so it looks like you are reading a book (not consulting a map because you are lost). Highly condensed, good for reference for a couple months around a new city. Nice gift idea.
