The Living Dead

- Are you kidding meThe title of this book is bordering on false advertising. Almost all of them have nothing to do with actual "zombies." It actually has a lot more to do about "boredom." A few stories in it are pretty good I can admit that (stephen king's in particular, of course) but even that didnt really have anything to do with zombies. The zombie sub-genre is my absolute favorite so i thought this was a sure thing...WRONG WRONG WRONG. Epic failure. User Review: - myriad themesEnjoyed the variety and fresh ideas. Not all the stories were very interesting though some were excellent. Worth buying and rereading after some time passes. User Review: - awesomethis book is loaded with all kinds of tales of the undead. Love stories, dramas, plays, and just flat out snuff literature. a fine addition to any zombie lovers book collection. User Review: - Dull as DishwaterThough this collection has a couple of decent zombie stories, most of them range from dish water dull to insipid. Even then the decent stories were re-treads from earlier books. At least one of the "Zombie" stories doesn't even involve actual zombies, but just an ex-con running around talking about zombies. I finished the entire story waiting for it to get better, but alas no reward. That was 15 minutes of my life I want back. Ugghh. User Review: - Nothing special at allThis book was pretty boring to read. Several of the stories had little to do with zombies (especially Some Zombie Contigency Plans by Kelly Link), or if they had zombies they were minor parts to the story overall. Out of the 34 stories or so there were maybe 5 or 6 good ones. This anthology was a waste of money. Next page of reviews >
