User Review: 5 out of 5 stars - Children's Atlas of the United States
My daughter has used this book for the last two years for school homework. She has also lent it to numerous friends whose parents have then purchased this book.

I would recommend this book not only for reference for school, but also fun facts. We play games at home and while traveling to see who can come up with the most correct answers. Learning can be fun!

User Review: 5 out of 5 stars - Children's Atlas of the United States
This book is excellent for teaching children about the 50 states in a fun, easy to read book. This book would be most appropriate for children between the ages of 7 and 12, although any child (or adult! ) wanting information on the different states would benefit from this book.

Each state has a two-page spread. It shows for each state:

map of the state (and then showing where it fits on the US map), one photo of something in the state and a drawing of some interesting fact or historical happening, 2-3 paragraphs about the state itself and/or interesting historical information, where it is found in relation to the map of the whole USA, pictures of the state flag, bird, tree, and flower, and then written information stating the capital and largest city, area in sq miles and how it ranks with the rest of the states, population and rank of population, when it became a state, principal rivers, highest point, motto, song, and famous people.

I would highly recommend this book as a good addition to any family's library.
