- Limited Range....I didn't expect a really long range in an urban setting. The city I live in (90 miles north f Seattle)only has a couple of buildings over 4 stories, but the best range I could achieve was about 1/2 mile (and this was on high power and direct line of sight between the two units); when I used the range booster button, I got a lot of static, but it was still audible. Voice clarity, volume and battery life are good. User Review: - Good buy for the moneyThe range is closer to one mile in the city or the woods. The units are very easy to learn and use. Audio is crisp and clear. When you're on the exclusive FRS channnels, the power level drops to about 0.5 watt. When your on GMRS channels, you have the option of low, medium, or high power. High power is about 2.0 watts. I like the drop-in charger, and the battery life seems to be good. What I don't like is the bottom of the radio case. It's rounded. Why is that a problem? It will not sit upright on a table or other flat surface. It's even difficult to get it to prop up when sitting on a flat surface leaning against a wall. This is an incredibly dumb design. If you can handle this shortcoming, then buy the radios. The bottom case design is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. User Review: - They workThey do not have a 22 mile range but are better than some we already have. Battery life is good, lasted all day. User Review: - Compare Battery CapacityThe Cobra LI5600 has a 650 mAh battery. The Cobra LI6700 has a 950 mAh battery.
